How are members of the Platinum Academy elected?
Ordinarily, one winner is announced annually. A nominating committee consisting of four members of the Academy draws up a list of proposed names that is circulated to all members at the beginning of the year. Members are given an opportunity to propose additional names along with arguments for why they should be nominated. The nominating committee discusses the new proposals and a revised list is submitted to the members for a vote. KOMM oversees the vote. The nominating committee is responsible for formulating an announcement explaining the grounds for the award. Sometimes a previous Platinum Egg recipient who knows the winner well is asked to write the announcement. The Platinum Egg is presented at the Golden Egg Gala under the direction of KOMM. Nominating committee: Anna Qvennerstedt, Frank Hollingworth, Carl Lewenhaupt, Göran Åkestam.
